A Speedy Easy Love You!

Hello friends

Brhhh it truly is mitten weather.
We had a few flurries of snow yesterday nothing settled but it was enough
to warrant thick jumpers for both Bella and myself.
I did spend some time in the cabin, grateful for the heater in there!

Today's project is a speedy easy card using the Die D-Lite set Love You.
A sweet three piece die set with the words Love You and a narrow heart.
I combined this die set with Hemstitch Rectangles
creating a frame for the words to go across.

I used the heart on the corner with a tiny flower.

The frame is raised up with 3D Foam Squares.
My card base is pre-printed with hearts and came out of a box
that I've been meaning to raid for a while now.
At last I might be using stuff I've had for years!

I like the font used for this die, curly but not too curly!

Thank you for the lovely response to this month's charity kit,
still some left in stock here if you missed out.
I'm trying to obtain more Build a Camper dies following your requests
but they seem rather elusive now...perhaps they've gone camping!
I'll keep trying.

Take care friends and please stop by tomorrow -
it is Hump Day Giveaway.

Apologies, Foamiran Flowers...let's have a go!

Hello friends

Firstly apologies ....
if you tried to purchase the charity kit yesterday.
By lunchtime we realised the website was saying £5 min order.
Panic ensued! Oh no, my crafty folk are going to think I'm making
them spend more on the website!!
I'm pleased to say Elliott worked on the website and altered this
so it is now possible to purchase the kit £4.50, free postage.
Seriously, this techy stuff will be the death of me!

Now back to calm crafting stuff...

Following on from Friday Die Day featuring Cinch and Go Flowers III,
I thought I would show you how this die works with
Foamiran.
Firstly have you heard of Foamiran?
If not, I'll do my best to explain... it feels like a mix of paper and fun foam
but much thinner.  It can be cut with scissors, dies and punches.
It can then be heated using a heat gun or an iron.
Here's a You Tube video that I found that shows great detail.
(She uses way more stamens than me!)

I purchased a small supply of Foamiron through Amazon
just to experiment with and it was fun!

It die cuts perfectly and comes in a variety of colours.
I chose white because I wanted to add distress inks.
You can also use pens, inks etc.
It is worth noting that once heated the colours do change a little.

Here is the same flower at varying stages of heating.
If you flip them over they heat the other way to create tiny buds if you wish.
I did not use an iron I chose to use my heat gun because I have one of those
in the cabin (ironing never gets done in there!)
I think possibly you have a more even curl if you use an iron.

They remind me of oriental flowers, not quite silk or paper, something in between.
I clustered them on a card front with Gossamer Knot die cut.
(Gossamer Knot back in stock here).

Interesting how the colour shrinks away from the edges so you have that white surround
for each petal.  Bound to be a baffling scientific reason for that!

I did try the leaves but they squished up very small when heated but I'm really
happy with the flowers.

Take care friends and wishing you a great start to the week.

February's Charity Kit

Hello friends

Apologies to those who tried to purchase earlier
and the website was saying £5 min purchase!
This has now been altered -
Elliott to the rescue!

It is the first Sunday of the month - that means Charity Kit Day.
I'm back on schedule this month - phew!
Because it proved popular recently I thought I would create a kit
using Build A Camper die set.
It is a 'best wishes' card with silver and 'dottiness'...
(not sure if that is a word but I like it).

Included in your kit:

Die cuts : Camper Van die cuts x 2 (silver and dotty paper*),
Blind, Wheel (black and silver middle), Door, Tow Bar,
Flowers x 6
Card base
Silver foil card mat
White 'best wishes' tamped card mat
Envelope
Lucky number
Full instructions

*Dotty paper colours may vary but van and flowers will coordinate.

You will just need to add adhesive and gemstones.

As always, inside your kit is a lucky number and if you hold
the winning ticket your prize is a goody bag containing
dies, stamps and more.
Just look out for the announcement later this month.

https://hopeandchances.co.uk/shop/kits/charity-kit-camper-van-card/

The price of this month's kit including postage and packing is £4.50.

A little change starting this year is that you purchase kits via the website.
This is due to various reasons, firstly requests for being able to pay by
debit and credit cards as well as PayPal.
Also with our new postal system it helps dispatch enormously
(saving some precious minutes for crafting).
On the website it is free postage so it will still be the £4.50
and you can check out as a guest if you do not have an account/prefer not to create one.

I would be grateful if you could click here and it
will take you straight to the item on the website.
You can check out in the usual way and
alter quantities if you wish to :)
Truly hope you do not mind the change.

And, as always all proceeds go to Ronald McDonald House, Camberwell.
Lots of thanks for continuing to support the charity kits,
we've been going for quite a few years now!

Take care friends and wishing you a lovely Sunday.

Going Folky with Rosemal Flowers

Hello friends

Hurrah it's the weekend and today I'm
sharing a project that was featured yesterday on the
It uses a technique with Adhesive Sheets which are incredibly useful
for paper piecing with die cuts.

The die featured is Rosemal Flowers, one of the new
Folk Art dies available to pre-order on the website here.

Please feel free to take a look at the tutorial on the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L
post here and if you have time it would be lovely if you could leave a comment.

Along with Adhesive Sheets, we also stock a large range of
their adhesive products on the website here.
There are not many stockists of their products in the UK so we've become
a 'go to' destination. If you've tried their products you'll know they are brilliant quality,
their 3D foam squares are my absolute favourite.

Take care friends and please stop by tomorrow ...
it's Charity Kit Day!

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

Who doesn't love flowers and this week's Friday Die Day features
a new collection available to pre-order Cinch and Go Flowers III.
Designed by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders and if
you are a 'flower follower' you will know there has been Cinch and Go
Flowers I and Cinch and Go Flowers II - all beautiful.
https://hopeandchances.co.uk/shop/amazing-paper-grace-collection/3d-vignettes-collection-cinch-and-go-flowers-iii-pre-order-arriving-march-2018/
It is a three piece die set but you will see that you can cut the petals
all in one go creating four die cuts.
The approximate measurements are:

Leaf Sprig: 2.55 x 1.05 in. 6.50 x 2.70 cm
Large Flower: 1.70 x 1.65 in. 4.30 x 4.20 cm
Medium Flower: 1.50 x 1.50 in. 3.80 x 3.80 cm
Calyx: 1.30 x 1.30 in. 3.30 x 3.30 cm
Small Flower: 1.35 x 1.35 in. 3.40 x 3.40 cm
Extra Small Flower: 1.20 x 1.25 in. 3.00 x 3.20 cm

This is how they look cut/embossed.

I've used watercolour white card and gone to town with distress inks.

I then mist them lightly with water.

And begin to shape.  I use my stylus tool and my fingers,
occasionally pliers.
The smaller ones I've really squeezed tight to create buds.

As there are readymade holes to the middle I've inserted stamens.
.
I've mounted a cluster of them on my card front with 3D Foam Squares.
My card features Tiara Rondelle, die cut this twice silver and then affixed
with a black shadow.
Another gorgeous design by Becca Feeken.

Some close ups of those flowers.

Papers are Kaisercraft Black and White Collection.
Music script for the background and used the die to cut the cut
the inner circle shape and reinsert it into the design.

Take care friends, wishing you all a brilliant weekend,
wrap up warm - apparently more nippy weather on the way.
