Hello friends
From the midst of a muddle I bring you Tuesday Tip/Technique!
My shop doesn't look so pretty now, lots of things dismantled, stock being boxed up
but needs must and I am enjoying having a good sort through of things.
I've found items that I had completely forgotten I owned but I think that is
pretty normal for a crafter!
In between my muddle mayhem I thought today I would talk about sandwiches -
specifically Grand Calibur sandwiches.
All you seasoned crafters know your cutting and embossing sandwiches but
for any 'newbies' out there:
Cutting - the 'traditional' cutting sandwich, A Base Plate, die with cutting edge upwards,
cardstock, C Cutting Plate.
cardstock, C Cutting Plate.
Cutting - the sandwich that most tend to adopt after a while as you can align your dies more easily.
C Cutting Plate, cardstock, die with cutting edge downwards, A Base Plate.
C Cutting Plate, cardstock, die with cutting edge downwards, A Base Plate.
Embossing - A Base Plate, die with die cut inside - cutting edge upwards,
tan mat (squidgy mat!), B Embossing Plate
Now we move onto using Impressabilities
A Base Plate, Impressabilities (there is no right or wrong side to these)
cardstock, tan mat, B Embossing Plate.
Double sided M-Bossabilities - A Base Plate, M-Bossabilities folder with cardstock inside,
D Adapter Plate.
B Embossing Plate, 3D M-Bossabilities folder with cardstock inside,
D Adapter Plate.
I hope that has helped today, the plates I use nearly all the time are the
Junior size as you feed them into the machine landscape and there is less winding.
I sold out of these on Saturday but more are on their way.
The Raspberry Adapter plates are available in both sizes here.
Right, back to sorting!
Take care friends - I'm back soon.

3D M-Bossabilities - now this is the only sandwich where you abandon your A Base Plate!
The best way to remember this sandwich is 'think pink!'B Embossing Plate, 3D M-Bossabilities folder with cardstock inside,

Good Morning Christine
ReplyDeleteGreat tip Tuesday as usual. I love my Grand Calibur. It gets used every time I craft and I would be lost without it.
Enjoy your tidying and packing.
Lesley
Hope you get 'sorted' soon. Useful plate info. today - great reminder.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine,
ReplyDeleteGreat tips for new crafters, I must admit that I got an electronic ebosser for my birthday, which is great, but I still use my Grand Calibur an awful lot and the junior plates are really handy. I also had a huge tidy up in my craft room over the weekend and a reshuffle, I just need to remember where I have stored everything now. I will try to send you some picture before it gets messy again.
Take care,
Chris xx
Dear Christine,
ReplyDeleteCats get you up early again today? Yes me too 4.47 to e precise, there is a documentary starting tonight all about cats and why they do the things they do! Looks really good, maybe worth Elliott and you having a quiet watch later! It's on BBC2 I think.
Have great day
Sandra xxxx
Hi Christine
ReplyDeleteGreat tip will be so useful ,Keep plodding with the sorting Christine, [ If you are like me i go to sort out then end up playing with items i had forgotten about ,} so i don't get much sorting done.

Hello Christine
ReplyDeleteI bought some Junior plates, but the rubber mat is so sticky, I use the one from the large plates...... again less turning of the handle is good!
I hope all the shop stuff will fit into your Cabin Christine!
Thanks for todays reminder tutorial
Take care
Love Marg
Hi Christine. I am glad that Saturday was busy but it must have been hard for you at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty gift bag, glad to see the poinsettia : )
I hope you find lots of forgotten goodies while you pack. Take care.
Hi Christine,
ReplyDeleteGreat tip today,really useful.
Good luck with sorting ,when do you find time for everything else. I hope you have a good day. x.
Morning Christine,
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you that sorting and packing, but as you say you do find things you had forgotten about.
Must be very sad for you.

ReplyDeleteMorning Christine, This is a great 'keeper tip sheet', I will be bookmarking this one, always useful if you have a memory like mine haha.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Morning Christine
ReplyDeleteGreat tips today, thank you! I'm sure they can be adapted for my Cuttlebug and eBosser.
It sounds as though you have a busy few days sorting and clearing your shop. I've started on my craft room now, as it looks as though we'll be moving at the end of November. There's plenty I don't want to be going into my new craft room!
Enjoy your day.

Hello Christine. Well, I think today will be my last comment for a while. I'm such a lucky bunny that I'm off to Australia for three weeks to see my eldest daughter and not sure what the wifi will be like in the outback! By the time I get back you'll be all sorted. Craft room built and organised, shop emptied, new life beginning. Take care and see you in November. xxMargaretxx
ReplyDeleteHello Christine, always good to go over basics .

I do dislike having to sort/pack things - I usually end up keeping most of it and feel I've wasted a good day's crafting :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips - always good to talk about sandwiches!
Fabulous tip Christine & so much better with pictures. Hope the sorting is going ok xx
ReplyDeleteGreat tips Christine, might think about getting smaller plates I have dexterity issues xx hazel
ReplyDeleteGreat tips and good to have the photos to refer to. Good luck with the sorting, I quite like a good sort out x
ReplyDeleteHI Christine, so sorry I've been missing and catching up lately, what with all the work in the house, holidays, going back to work and 2 craft workshops there has been no time for catching up with blogs...so I'm starting where I left off and working towards your exciting news...great tip as usual..I love m GC(even though it's old and creaky) and other manual machines, the electronic ones show no interest for me...example, my Cricut, which never gets turned on! Hugs Carole Z X
