M-Bossabilities™...the Possibilities!

Hello friends
Thank you for the wonderful response to yesterday's Friday Die Day and the
M-Bossabilities folder featured.
I will make sure Bella picks out a winner at the beginning of next week.
I have received a few questions and I thought it might be useful to revisit some ideas that
I featured last Summer for M-Bossabilities.
Try inking up your folders....
When run through with plain cardstock the ink goes into the embossed area.
 Use stamps on your folders.
Here you can see the stamping image is delicate but effective.
Easily cleaned with a baby wipe or damp cloth.
 Emboss vellum.
Emboss glassine bags.
Or if you like the elegant whiteness of a card here is one of my favourites...
And I think it might be a favourite with others too...
I have this card on Pinterest and it is the one that has been 'repinned' the most!
Today I hope to be putting the finishing touches to the shop sign, I think I've had the
slowest drying paint ever!  It is mainly because it needed quite a few coats and needs
to be weatherproof.  I hope to bring you photos tomorrow.
Also...for those who asked - the Homespun die set is now in my Amazon shop,
it features those gorgeous little flowers and leaves as well as cute other dies too.

Have a wonderful weekend.
I'm back tomorrow.

  1. Hi Christine, food for thought today, must give this a try soon. Always wary of inking the folders but now you have shown how easy it is I must try it. Why do so many people comment when there is a giveaway and fail to do so on a normal post?

  10. Hi Christine. Love todays card. Beautiful background paper.

Funnily enough I had a go at inking my emboosing folder yesterday. Don't think I put on enough ink but for a first attempt i was very pleased. Love the effect on the vellum, will try that later.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

By the way, the rain has stopped. Gracie is a very happy dog today.

Your shop sign will be well worth the wait, so looking forward to seeing it.
Have a lovely weekend, the sun is out here and there is a thick frost on the floor, hopefully a lovely afternoon.

  23. Morning Christine,
Please tell me where that floral paper s from on the second card, I love it, so bright fresh and vibrant, I feel that I recognise it, Odds and Ends maybe?
I must try inking my embossing folders, I think that it would be easier making your own backing papers some times, easier to match your projects! the trouble with that is I am a self confessed Paper-aholic I love them!
I am off to browse your Amazon Shop!
Good luck with the Shop Sign< be good to see the grand unveiling!
    Hugs as always,
    Sandra Riley xx

  24. Hi Christine, love your beautiful cards, especially love the second one. The paper little roses with the die cut is awesome. Also, dont know why I didnt think to emboss with the vellum, great idea. Love your pictures, Im a visual learner and its really wonderful to actually see effects instead of just being told them. Thank you, I know that takes more time on your part but its appreciated.

  28. Thanks Christine for all your ideas and inspirations. I like the idea of inking the folder before running through machine, but I have never tried inking from a rubber stamp. This is on my "things to try list". The second card you are showing is in complete contrast with the bright red and white. What is the frame die that you have used? Janice x

I'm a bit late Christine, but yesterday's blog is simply stunning. I shall certainly apply that concept to make a "normal" gift into something stunning.
I've seen the idea of inking the embossing folders before, but you've gone one further by saying "use stamps" - I shall certainly do so.
Have a great weekend with PLENTY OF SUNSHINE.

  32. Hi Christine thanks for the ideas using embossing folders. Never thought of stamping on the folders. I have embossed various materials and they look good on acetate too. Another technique I tried last week was embedded embossing, looks really nice but you need a "tight" pattern for the best effect.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend
