Hello friends
Today a tag..but it shouldn't actually be a tag today!
I was hoping to show you the new Christmas Advent Frame but time was snatched away by...
a blackberry bush! It took quite a few hours to take that blackberry bush to task.
It has now had a rather severe pruning to enable my little shed to have new roofing felt.
These domestic/gardening chores do get in the way of craft!
Also for everyone who asked, I 'Googled' an Ironing Fairy...some ironing companies have called themselves that but no real fairies available - more's the pity.
So..back to this very green tag. A little project using the freebie papers from
Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.
Tiny Layered Poinsettia, inked and placed on top a strip of lace and some
scrunched vintage ribbon. Simple, quick but would dress up any festive parcel.
Yesterday wasn't completely dominated by the blackberry bush(!) I did manage to pop out
St Mary's Church in Higham - they were hosting a Scarecrow Festival.
I took my camera along, here are just a couple of the entries.
Very clever - 50 Shades of Grey!
This one is of Boris Johnson who has upset many people suggesting
we have a Thames Estuary Airport!
Because the Church is no longer a practising church I was allowed to take Bella inside,
she really didn't know what to make of the scarecrows.
The light was just creeping in through one of the stained glass window.
Back to craft....I hope to reveal the new Advent Frame tomorrow so please pop back.
Have a lovely Sunday - we have roast pork today, lots of apple sauce for me please!
Take care friends.
Morning Christine, did you not read the Health and Safety rules on gardening,"bushes should be avoided at all costs" lol. Your tag is lovely, I am eagerly looking forward to tomorrow for the Advent Box Frame post. Hope no bushes get in your way. The scarecrows look scary, they would frighten me away especially Christian Grey lol.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe day.

ReplyDeleteA maybe stupid question. Do you use the tags as part of a card or use it on a prezzie?

Morning Christine, Lovely tag today, I agree with you about 'mundane chores', I too wish I had a fairy cleaner, fairy gardener, and fairy cook, these chores do get in the way of crafting, grrrrrr. Glad you got the upper hand with the blackberry bush, with gloves I hope.
ReplyDeleteThe scarecrows are fabulous, and what a good idea, but I am in love with the Church's Stained Glass Window, it is absolutely beautiful, I have always been a lover of stained glass windows since I was a child, we had them in our front door and side windows and I used to sit on the stairs (in front of them) and look at them for hours, literally. Our Church has some nice ones, but they are 'modern' like 'cubist' type shapes and I'm not too keen on those.
Looking forward to tomorrows post from you. Have a lovely Sunday, and enjoy your Roast Pork.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Christine, lovely tag and you have been very busy!x
ReplyDeleteMorning Christine
ReplyDeleteI love this tag, its so festive
We did loads of sorting out in the garden yesterday and now our "garden bin" is full so we had to stop as nowhere to put the rubbish. It is very rewarding though when it looks tidy
Pork loin for us today for Sunday lunch too..
Hope you have a lovely day

ReplyDeleteThe scarecrows are cool...much too good to go in a field.
Love the tag too.
Hi Christine, a truly beautiful tag and those scarecrows did give me a good chuckle, especially the Boris one - so funny.
ReplyDeleteI have been busily making your envelope bags for the last couple of days and today I used the poinsettia die with vellum, it is so delicate and beautiful. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
Enjoy your dinner, glad you got the bramble out of the way.....more time to craft now! Crafty hugs, Anne x
hi Christine - great tag and using that lovely poinsettia. Love the scarecrow - I think they are such fun when you see them popping up all over. I used to go to a felting class in Fife and they did this in the town and surrounding area each year as a competition.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine
ReplyDeleteOoo love this tag, i like the added twine to the top of the ribbon ,just gives it that little bit extra lift and catches the eye .
Where i live we have dressed up bears dotted around and hidden all over the area , some of them are very cleverly put in their hiding places ,such as high in the sky on top of a crane , the children have to find them all to win a prize i believe ,even we adults like to find them its such fun
Enjoy your roast pork dinner Mmmm
Take Care
