Friday Die Day

Hello friends

This week's Friday Die Day features a butterfly - so that's just perfect in my books!
It is Royal Flutter, one of the dies from the Victorian range.
The measurements are:

Hearts: ranges ¼ to ⅜”
Flowers: ranges ¼ to ⅜”
Butterflies: ranges ¼ to ⅜”
Strip: 6 x 1⅞”

This is how it looks cut/embossed.
I really like the extras - the hearts, butterflies and flowers -
so useful for many projects.
I've chosen to use the centre strip with the butterfly and foliage and cut three times
from pink, green and purple cardstock.
Prepared a kraft card base and matted spotty paper.
Stamped a sentiment across the bottom.
I then got to work with my scissors and cut the butterfly away from the foliage
and positioned the leaves at the left hand side of my card.
It was then a case of cutting the two butterflies (pink and purple) layering
with a gemstone.  Adding the tiny flowers to the foliage and more little gemstones.
Simples!
Some close up shots.

Royal Flutter is available on the website here.
The Victorian range is a beautiful selection of dies and I've discovered
that by cutting my die cuts they are so versatile too.

Take care friends - have a great weekend.

  2. Morning Christine
Beautiful card today. This is a very pretty die. I always feel a little uncomfortable cutting into die cut but if you do it means you extend the use of the die which increases the value for money.
    Enjoy your day

  20. A lovely card today Christine, although I have to confess that the shape of the butterfly is not my favourite this time. Thank you for the FDD though, it's great to see how to use dies and cutting into them.
