Tuesday Tip Technique

Hello friends

Here she - Bella coiffured!
She has a wardrobe of jumpers in case she feels a little chilly with her short fur.
I had thought she was getting a little tubby but with her haircut I can see it must
have been her curly fur.  Good job I hadn't put her on a diet!

Delighted to report car got through its MOT - good job too as I'm doing a
great deal of driving!

Back to craft...

Yesterday's card has triggered off today's Tip Technique - thank you Rita for your question.
The yellow background was created with the NEW 6 x 6 Matting Basics dies.

Hurrah!  We now have square matting dies, I've been campaigning for
larger square dies since Grand Squares was discontinued.
Again, these dies come under the special UK release that was launched at
Stitches a week ago.
Today for TTT I thought I would clarify why there are two sets of matting dies,
A and B, how they work alone or combined.

These dies come under Spellbinders® Card Creator range, it means you can
create perfectly spaced layers and also use them with coordinating Card Creator sets.

By using 6 x 6 Matting Basics A you have a spacing of 1/4" between each layer and again
the same with Matting Basics B.
If you combine the two sets you have narrowing matting options.
Hopefully the photos make it a lot clearer.

These are available to pre-order on the website here.  Available early March.
It really makes card making a breeze and I know there are many of you that will be
delighted that we can be perfectly "square" again! :)

Mrs B (Sue) and Sandra - absolutely thrilled you are coming along to
Farnborough on Saturday!  Can't wait to see you both.

Take care friends, I'm back tomorrow with ...cats!

  1. Bella looks beautiful - compared to yesterday's photo it's like one of those fancy before and after photos you see!
I'm coming to Farnborough too (being only 5 miles away it would be rude not to!) but not sure yet what else is happening at the weekend so I may have to go on Friday in which case I'll miss you, but if I can make Saturday I'll stop by and say hello

So happy you have these squares for sale not only to make perfect squares but also to make perfect frames with too! I shall have to pre order when I get paid at the end of the week lol!
    Have a great day.

  3. Hi Christine,
Lovely photo of Bella, she is just so cute, I think you should feature her everyday. I'm glad to see the matting squares back, I have the rectangles and use them such a lot, I think matting finishes your cards off really nicely.

The 6 x 6 Matting Basics dies look great, so useful. Christine do you know Why do Spellbinders discontinue really popular dies? It is such a shame when they do!
Counting down to Saturday, only 4 sleeps now : )

  8. Good Morning Christine
Thank you for campaigning for those Dies!I don't know why they discontinue such useful ones!
My biggest regret was LF-168 which I never got !
Bella looks like a little puppy now.... its still nippy so I think she will need her jackets!

  9. Hello Christine, goodness Bella looks like a different dog, she could model when trimmed, but personally I prefer them about a month later when a good covering comes back. The layering dies make such a difference to cards, they just look that much nicer and I like the edge detail. Looking forward to getting mine. X Ros

  10. Morning Christine, Bella looks absolutely gorgeous with her new haircut, she is so photogenic and obviously loves having her picture taken.
I am so glad Spellbinders are bringing out these 6x6 matting basics dies, I will definitely be wanting these sets. I make lots of 8x8 cards and was really upset when they stopped doing the Grand dies.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  16. Hi Christine
Doesn't Bella look the bees knees now she's had a hair cut. loving the square matting basics. I loved the grand labels 1, but they discontinued those as well, just as I'd found them via Christina Griffiths. I'm hopping to meet you as well as Mrs B and Sandra. I'm coming down with my sister in law but I'm hoping to meet up with them as well.

  18. Bella looks very smart now - but I thought she was lovely before her hair cut anyway.
I have the rectangular card creator dies but the squares look like one for my wish list. Using my perfect layers ruler at the moment, which is fine as long as the card is thick enough.
Looking forward to seeing the cats tomorrow.

  19. My goodness Christine, what a difference a day makes to Bella- I am so glad she has some 'woolies' until it gets a bit warmer.

Love the idea of the square dies, but just can't afford it at the moment, perhaps later.

  24. Hello Christine
Bella looks fabulous after her trip to the beauticians and definitely not fat. Gald to here your car passed its MOT too.
It is great to see Spellbinders bringing out square dies. Definitely 2 sets to add to my collection. I was never able to get my hands on the Grand squares and I would love to be able to get hold of grant circles too. I understand why Spellbinders discontinue dies but it would be great if they didn't discontinue the basic dies.
Finally thank you for all your help yesterday. My order is now placed and I am looking forward to it arriving. My desk looks very bare without my Grand Calibur.
    Take care
    Lesley
