Friday Die Day Part Two with a Week of Hearts - Day 6!

Hello friends

Again a rather long blog title today!
It's Friday and it's Friday Die Day ... Part Two and Day 6 of a Week of Hearts.
This week I'm using the heart from Heart and Flutter die set.

A reminder of the die sizes:

Butterfly: 1⅛ x 1¼“
Heart: 2⅞ x 2⅜“

And this is what it looks like cut/embossed.
I've chosen to make a predominantly white card using a patterned piece of paper
from Lawn Fawn - Sweater Weather.
I've cut a strip narrower than my card front.
I've opened out the card and positioned the strip of patterned paper and the die.
I've held both temporarily in place with removable tape.
I ran it through the Grand Calibur to cut the aperture.
I then removed the patterned paper, attached 3D Foam Squares to the reverse.
I die cut a tag (Back to Basics Tags), stamped a sentiment and tied twine.
I placed the patterned paper with the tag and twine back in position and affixed down.
The red die cut heart is inserted through the aperture and glued into place.
The finished card.
And a close up of the very pretty heart.
Heart and Flutter is available on the website here.
A useful die set and not just for Valentine's.

Other news:
pleased to report doggy choccy buttons worked!
Bella conceded to walk with me!  Here we are in the woods, have to admit the woods
are a little spooky in the cloudy weather and when the trees are so bare of leaves.
Bella and I had a little chat and I told her that doggy choccy buttons are not
a regular thing - she understands every word! ;)

I'm totally ignoring the fact it is Friday 13th today...!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Take care friends.

  2. Hi Christine,
A lovely card and great tip again, thank you. It looks like Bella enjoyed her walk despite being bribed, do you think you Dad has been spoiling her? I'm ignoring Friday 13th too.

  3. Good morning Christine
Another lovely card today. Red and white work so well together, very classy colours. Plus you can't beat a heart die especially one that comes with a butterfly!
I am so pleased Bella has listened to you and is now walking with you again.
I too am ignoring the date. We have an ice rink at work today and I do not even want to think about any bad luck with ice, skates and small children.
    Enjoy your day

  4. Morning Christine,

    Lovely card.

Poor Bella, perhaps the wind through the empty tree frightens her lol! She is only tiny, bless her. Glad the chocs worked and I'm sure she understood every word!

  8. Morning Christine, this is a lovely FDD and gorgeous card...bless Bella, animals are so good at listening to us when it comes to treats aren't they:)? Lol, I keep telling one of my hens that she is not going to get a few blueberries when she follows me back to the house every time I go out in the garden...of course I give in so it'll never work! 13. Hi Christine
Another stunning card today. I love how you've cut the heart out. I'm glad the doggy treats worked, and that this is not a done deal every day. Woods always do look spooky when the leaves aren't on the trees.

  14. Good Morning Christine,
What a lovely, unusual card, I love that lawn fawn paper, it looks like school book paper, but the addition of those two hearts at the top make such a difference!
You have shown us a fabulous technique today too Christine, you explain things so clearly!
Well I had better do and make a card for my Valentine, I may use your rows of hearts card from the other day. ( I hope that's ok)?
What are you and the boys up to this weekend?
We are having a quiet weekend, although curiosity has made me want to go watch "Mr Grey" but I have read the books and it kind of ruins the film/book sometimes when they haven't followed it fully! By the way it was very much the love story that captured me, not the albeit brief 'other' bits!
Well on that note I will leave you all,
    Love & hugs
