Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends
Tuesday Tip/Technique today.
Apertures, I've probably mentioned them before - Spellbinders dies make beautiful
apertures/windows in your projects.
Different ideas to fill your apertures, how about recycling some lace?
This is a piece of net curtaining, I found it as an offcut at a local fabric shop
and sprayed it with glimmer mist.
Placed behind the Classic Scalloped Circles it makes a beautiful
background for the Anemone Flower Topper (also liberally sprayed with glimmer mist!)
The pretty border at the base of the card is achieved with Edgeabilities.
Inside your card place a further piece of cardstock over your lace
so everything looks nice, neat and tidy!
You need not stop at lace, any pretty fabrics - recycle an old blouse,
curtains even.  At this rate I may stop you throwing everything away!

Other news...
I want to send out a hug today to Val Jones, I was sorry to hear your news
regarding your sight, I truly hope things will improve and you can get back to crafting soon.

Take care friends, I'm back tomorrow...with winners!

  3. Hi Christine,
A great idea for apertures, we always have scrap apertures when we have cut a shape and what a great way to use them.

  20. The lace makes a stunning background for the scalloped circle. Brilliant idea. I don't have any lacy scraps around, but it'll be worth browsing in a fabrics department.

  22. Hi Christine, A brilliant idea with the net curtain in the aperture. I use dies as apertures quite often, but normally it is to create a frame. Please don't have me keeping hold of any more 'stuff' hahaha, I'm already keeping hold of all my old clothing, for cutting up when I start to do my quilting !!!
Sorry to hear that you are having problems, Val, here's a huge hug and hoping you will be better really soon.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
