Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends

Tuesday is here again and what do I have for you today?
Create your own backgrounds.
Die cut a shape - I've used Botanical Swirls, an expandable pattern die.
Use your die cut as a mask to spray through.  I've used Glimmer Mist.
Wait for it to dry fully before removing the die cut.
And trimmed it makes a lovely background to your project.

I've used Carnation Creations for the flower, a little lace
and stamped sentiment.
Easy peasy really!
Think red background with Layered Poinsettia...
I'm mentioning Christmas again!

The winning ticket for July's Charity Kit will be drawn next week
so please hold on to your numbers.  I've got a great goodie bag this month!

Take care friends.

  6. Morning Christine, A fabulous tip today, I had not even thought of this (nothing new there then haha), but now you point it out, it's the ideal mask. I have this die and have used it quite a lot, although I have a couple of cut-outs that weren't just right, so I will give this a try with those. Thank You.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

  8. Good morning Christine
I have never thought of using my background dies as stencils. This is a really good idea - thank you for sharing.
My parcel of goodies arrived from you yesterday and I just wanted to say thank you for such prompt service. The icicle die is lovely and should give me the push I need to kick start my Christmas crafting.
    Enjoy your day

  13. Hi Christine,
Thanks for the tip, I guess you can do the same with masks, the one you have created looks textured!
This technique is a good way of getting a colour match background to go with odd bits of ribbon or papers!
Looking forward to tomorrow's post !
    Hugs to all,
    Sandra xx

  17. Hello Christine. Well, that's a very handy reminder that dies can be stencils too. As you say in red or green or a shiny blue with snowflakes and it's another card done. xxMargaretxx

  18. Great card Christine. I have both die sets, and never thought of doing the background that way. Somehow, I don't think my flower would turn out like yours either!

  21. Great stuff. Such a pretty design. I guess the die-cut itself, having been sprayed through, could also be used on another card. BTW Nigel was showing off your decorated chocolate bar earlier on one of the Spellbinders pick of the week shows.
