Hello friends
A quick injection of Christmas today and a little giveaway!
This is another card from Make Christmas Cards.
It was the final card I made when I was working on this commission
and realised I had lots of scraps of paper left over.
I then recalled a design that fellow design member Michelle Woerner had made
and was inspired - thank you Michelle!
I cut the paper pieces into strips, adhered them to cardstock using an Adhesive Sheet
and then cut/embossed with Stars Five.
Tied some red twine around one star point and finished the card with one of the
sentiments also free in the magazine.
Easy, quick and effective!
I have a new sealed copy of the magazine to give away -
it comes with all the papers, stamps, toppers and more - in fact it has 279 pieces -
(what an odd number, you think they would have rounded it up!)
If you haven't started thinking about Christmas cards and projects it might just be
the little bump start you need or perhaps you are already in the throws of
Christmas creating and would like more!
Either way - really simple, just leave me a comment today and I will
ask Elliott to pick out a winner.
Thank you for all your kind comments on my crafty space yesterday,
remember to look up the Crafty Storage blog from time to time,
there are some great ideas. Talking of storage - did you know Spellbinders have
a gorgeous raspberry coloured micro fibre suede die case available...
I have managed to get my hands on some of these and I'm stocking them in my Amazon shop.
Ooops! They have sold out! But I have placed an order for some more so
if you would like one I'm very happy to reserve one for you - just drop me an email.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, I'm planning to have a lay-in at some point,
if you knew me you would laugh, I think I last managed to lay-in circa 1995!
Always been an early riser!
Take care friends.
What a lovely simple but pretty card ! As the saying goes less is more ! I really like that bag to !! Xx Maria xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Christine
ReplyDeletethank you for the idea of a very easy card useing up the scraps. I hope Elliot will soon be well again I think about you and wish you all the best take care Kitty
What a gorgeous way of using up scraps - I'm already thinking up ways it could be adapted to other dies and other seasons.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, what a super way to use up scraps of paper. I have to admit that I still haven't started my Christmas cards so I'm really going to have to get cracking when I get back home! I love the storage case, I can feel an order is about to be placed.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a good weekend without the rain that we have in Venice!

Best wishes
Anne O
Oh no. Another spellbinders item on my wish list lol. Hope you have a good weekend and get some rest in! Gillian xx
ReplyDeleteHi Christine. Great card made using up those little scraps. Will be having a look at the die bag, I didn't know there was one! You don't have to have to lie in bed to relax, (my hubby is the same as you) just doing what YOU want, when YOU want to is the important thing. Let the boys know that this is your "Lie In" and you will be "Getting up" a bit later. I am sure they won't mind (if they are even up themselves!!!) Enjoy the weekend. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, what a great idea to use up scraps of paper! Thank you. I've been thinking a lot about Elliott and the trauma he is going through with the mask, I hope that having it at home continues to help him. Love Carolyn x
ReplyDeleteGreat card especially for using up scraps. I love the Spellbinders case, very tempting!

ReplyDeleteHi Christine. What a simple design for a card, I can see it using a triangle to make a tree, a bauble shape, I could continue but l am sure you get the picture. I was going to have a lie in this morning but when my husband got up at 5.45!!! I decided to get up and start crafting. Love the bag. Have a good weekend. Valerie

ReplyDeleteGreat and effective way of using up scrap pieces of paper. Regarding the lay-in, I always find that when I can stay in bed that little bit longer I am wide awake, and when I have to get up early I would prefer to stay in bed! Anne x
This is a lovely card, and what a great way to use up the scraps (or some of the TON of paper I think I have). I envy your neat and tidy space Christine. I seem to create better in a clutter (my excuse)

ReplyDeleteWonderful tip for using up Christmas paper scraps, thanks.
Loved the trip down your crafty memory lane..I really need a complete crafty space makeover.
Love the Spellbinders case for dies. Wonder if the plastic pockets are good and strong. I've had problems with plastic pockets before and abandoned my folder because of it, my dies are now on magnetic sheets in a box... not very easy to search through.
Regards
