Hello friends
Something different today!
Being a member of Julianna's Positively Me Design Team has given me the opportunity
to revisit beading. Just before Christmas a parcel arrived containing....Jewel Loom™ .
This loom has been designed by Julianna and is simple to thread and easy to use
and it will be available in the UK very soon.
I was asked to create a project for CHA and I thought I would design something
a little different to jewellery...how about a fancy beaded cuff for gloves!
A close up - to create the 'flower' I made a further strip of beading, gathered and sewed it together.
Little secret: despite all my years of beading....I have never used a bead loom before!
So that proves how nice and easy it is.
I am convinced I did right by postponing yesterday's class - I had to visit the studio
and this was the car park at 9am...it got a lot worse! Beyond that wall is the River Thames...
yes quite hard to believe!

to those who booked. There is going to be a follow-up class: Spellbinders: The Next Chapter
on Saturday 20 April where more techniques will be explored.
If you would like to book please click on this link or you can get in touch with Jennie here.

Wow the beading is great. Yes it was a shame that the class didn't run but it was for the best - looked pretty similar in Bucks. Took Toby for a walk yesterday and was very glad of the hot chocolate when I got home. Kids are hoping that school is closed today but still no news - fingers crossed and then I don't have to goto work either! Take care and keep warm. Ju
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, another string to your bow, how lovely is that beading. Lovely cuff on the gloves. The "South" getting snow, major catastrophe, glad to hear you are wrapped up warm. We are expecting a major fall of snow today to add to the four inches we already have. Brrrrrrr.

Very pretty beading Christine...have tried this a few times in the past, but could never get into it...I already have too many crafts on the go, so will leave this one to admire others work! Carole Z X

Hi Christine. What beautiful beading. Gives a real sparkle to a plain pair of gloves.

ReplyDeleteHi Christine,
ReplyDeleteyour beading is wonderful. I have never beaded or made jewellery, but my sister who lives in south Wales does and she goes to beading classes.
She makes fantastic jewellery which I sometimes feature on my blog.
Have a wonderful warm and crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
