Hello friends,
It's Sunday and the sun is shining!
I'm crafting ready for TV on Wednesday...got some really interesting things to show you...
At the moment I have three shows, 10am, 2pm and 6pm.
Today I can share with you some bookends that I created for Spellbinders™.
I asked my Dad to make a pair of very plain bookends and then I went to town decorating them.
All the details can be found here, of course it features a few butterflies!
This was one of those projects that I was a little sad to pack up and send -
Now the important news...a winner of the felt.
Here is Bella doing her job!
I've decided she can read because she started to lick her lips....
The winner (on a rather soggy piece of paper as opposed to chewed this time!) is....
BACONBITS (aka Amanda)
Congratulations!
Please drop me an email: christine.emberson@blueyonder.co.uk
with your address details and I will pop the felt in the post to you.
Have a super Sunday dear friends.
Take care,
Hi Christine, well this s the glorious twelfth and what a glorious idea for bookends, love it. Congrats to the winner of the felt she had a head start with Bella with a name of Baconbits lol

Hi Christine,
ReplyDeletewonderful bookends. Your Dad sounds very useful too.
Isn't it funny how we pick up our craftiness form our family. I too have a family with lots of craft in our background. Have a wonderful crafty day everyone.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Hi Christine,
ReplyDeleteIt's me again went off on a tangent and forgot to congratulate the winner of the felt. As your first commenter said she did have a head start with the name Baconbits. LOL.

What a lovely dad you have Christine, he is so handy. A real father and daughter project!!!! I love the way you have decorated the bookends - such a beautiful idea. My hubby has loads and loads of offcuts of wood in his 'shed'! Won't let me throw them out because they may come in useful some day! Perhaps today is THE day.

Hugs Sue P xx

ReplyDeleteI love and adore these book ends, your picked lovely colours and layout with the postcard and butterfly on each half. Now i will have to do the same and get dad to make some bookends! - what would we do without dads diy!
Enjoy your sunday
Emma
Hello Christine, what a lovely project the bookends are. yet another idea to have a play with. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Sometimes altered art can look a little unnecessary - done for its own sake, nothing more.
ReplyDeleteThese wonderful bookends show the skills required for the task but the finished result will last years doing the job they are designed for.
This makes them, in my view, the best altered art I've seen in a very long online time.
Hi Christine, well done to Amanda on her win! Love your bookends so much, I would not want to part with them either, they are truly gorgeous and what a lovely Dad you have....Crafty hugs, Anne xx

Wow, fabulous bookends I just love them. They are a great idea for a gift, but I'd rather keep them for myself!! Love from Christine x
ReplyDeleteHi Christine, these stunning bookends, they would look fabulous on any shelf. I know what you mean about being sorry when a good project ends and you pass it on. I recently made a baby book for a friend, I really loved making it and was really sorry to pass it to her in one way.
ReplyDeletecongratulations to baconbits for being a winner, well done and enjoy using the felt.

Hi Christine, Stunning Bookends. I too can see why you would want to make another pair. Any tips on how to prolongue the life of them. It's so difficult to not damage paper when dusting even when using a brush or air can.
ReplyDeleteBella is so talented and I love the bookends too! Hope you are having a great weekend and take care, Teresa
ReplyDeleteHi Christine
