The Decorated Egg

Hello friends
As 'teased' yesterday here is the full project that I created for
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L®.
It is a repackaged Easter egg
It makes a regular Easter egg just that little bit more personalised
and the bunting is created so simply with 3D Foam Pennants.
The very delightful Create A Daisy also makes an appearance.
With just a peg at the top for closure it also allows speedy opening!
Please hop over to the Crafty Power Blog for all the step by step instructions.

I took my own trip to the woods ...this is Bella about to take off after a squirrel!
It got away..in fact they all get away thankfully.
The Bluebells are wonderful and the fragrance is quite overwhelming.

Mitchell chose to decorate the Easter Tree, as you can see it is a pretty wire stand with
hanging decorated wooden eggs.
So pleased I captured this photo, not many young men would still want to do this!

Today I am cooking dinner for my family, we've chosen to have a traditional roast
followed by...Christmas pudding!
Wishing you all a wonderful Easter Sunday.
Take care friends.

Bluebells!

Hello friends
While I toiled away at London work on Thursday, Elliott and Bella
took a woodland walk.  He took a couple of photos of the bluebells.
There is only a very small window of time to capture them at their best so I must get there!
Isn't Spring just the best season - start of all things new and talking of new...

In anticipation of Marion Emberson's classes on Sunday 27 April more
new WOW! goodies have been uploaded to the website,
that's powders, moulds and stamps.

Marion is an ambassador of WOW! and travels between Essex and USA,
appears on Scrapbook Soup - a US craft programme, QVC and runs her own superb
craft shop - Sugar and Spice.
She is also one of the funniest, bubbliest ladies I know so the classes promise
to be fun, fun and fun!
Here is a link to her You Tube channel so you can meet the lady.
Just a few spaces left for her classes....

Later today a project of mine will be appearing on The Crafty Power Blog,
I will feature it fully tomorrow but in between here is a Easter-ish tease...!

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends
A Good Friday Die Day!
I have steered away from an Easter project today but there will be a flurry
of Easter-ish items appearing over the Bank Holiday.

Today I am featuring Feathers On The Wind - one of the new In'spire line dies.
There are two templates in the set and this is how they look cut/embossed.

I've chosen to make a very, very simple card!
White card base with patterned paper from my scrap box.
I die cut a Standard Circles Small and adhered the feathers at angles.
Stamped a sentiment and cut into a banner, positioned this
behind the circle and feathers adhered with 3D Foam Squares.

The finished card, with the addition of a button and twine.
Very - very simple design!
And a close up picture...

I'm thinking feathers lend themselves to both feminine and masculine cards
so could prove very useful.
I hope you all have lovely plans for the Easter weekend.
Take care friends - back tomorrow.

Easter Birdhouse

Hello friends
All good yesterday at the hospital, we are now equipped with
emergency injection packs just in case Elliott has any problems, my fridge looks
more like a medicine cabinet but that's fine, all necessary.

As promised...the Easter Birdhouse project.
Step photos are possibly not as bright as they should be -
crafting away very early yesterday morning!

There is a template that you can download and print here.
For the bird house, if you can, print directly onto your coloured cardstock -
this saves time sticking a printed copy sheet onto cardstock and cutting around.
You do also need to print one onto normal copy paper (I will explain why later).

You then need to decide if you would like your birdhouse to have a straight edge sides
or a curved bottom (!) this will dictate where you score. Cut out the template.
You need to cut the circle, I've used Standard Circles Small.
There is not a template for the roof, but it is very simple - cut a piece of card
measuring 6" x 3¾", I chose to use kraft card.
I wanted a pretty roof edge and used the scallop edge from Classic Edges One

 Fold the roof in half.
From the additional print of the template on copy paper just cut out the
front section of the birdhouse.  You can then achieve the weatherboard look by cutting
strips of card and adhering across.
You may want to ink the edges slightly - I chose white.
Keep adding layers until you've covered the front.
This is how the reverse looks.  Once dry trim around and die cut the circle.
You will overlaying and attaching this to the front of the house.
Returning to your template, score dotted fold lines and assemble.
You can then pop the roof on and attach some decoration. I chose Sprigs -
this die template does not move from my desk at the moment!
Fill with mini eggs or something equally delicious!
You could make a small hole in the roof, attach ribbon through
and have a hanging birdhouse.

Lovely response to the Home Decor Hearts yesterday and I think it is decided...
it will be a kit!  I will get that organised soon.
Susie B asked the size of the hearts - they measure 25cm x 15cm.
It is possible that the kit will have a slightly smaller heart purely to keep cost and
postage prices to a minimum.

Take care friends and stop by tomorrow for another tutorial - FDD!

I Give My Heart To You! Giveaway

Hello friends

Yesterday's class - Home Decor Heart went really well,
here are some of the hearts made...
This is Sandra's.
Jane's
and Sally's
All very lovely and vintage.
The bezel hatpins are going to be filled at home with charms/beads etc
and then they are complete.

The 'Home' heart I designed for the class is now up for a giveaway...
I give my heart to you! A little pre-Easter treat.
It features Grand Peony Creations and Sprigs.
Really simple - just leave me a comment and Bella will
pick out a winner over Easter - if she's not too busy running around the woods!

Today Elliott and I are off to King's Hospital, routine today -
a new injection kit, very much hoping this helps his daily injections become
a little more manageable.

Take care friends - are you all set for Easter?

Spring Sunshine

Hello friends

First off answering some questions:
Jean Z asked what sort of paper I use for the Roses die,
for the recent Create A Rose, I used Bazill cardstock.
If you find the card does not 'give' enough, then spritz it lightly with water,
this breaks down the fibres.

Now, some news on the Tool n'One.  If you subscribe to the website newsletter
you will have received this via email too.

The latest news just in from the United States...!
The original anticipated dispatch date has been further extended due to high production,
Spellbinders should be shipping this item to distributors on 21 April and arrive
in the UK shortly thereafter.

I am so grateful for everyone's patience - if you have any further queries
please do not hesitate to email: hope-chances@live.co.uk

I've received some more wonderful pictures of April's Charity Kit...
thank you so much ladies.

Here is Lesley's with the addition of gingham paper,
and here is Elaine's - with the addition of a gorgeous butterfly!
They are beautiful and I love how you have put your own artistic twist on the design.
I promise not to keep you waiting too long for the Easter project.. I can't believe
Easter is nearly upon us - I haven't put up my Easter Tree yet (yes, I have one of those!)

Now some Spring pictures - Mitchell went to the woods on his bike and Bella went too.
The Bluebells are appearing.
And, last night I took Bella to the park,
perhaps I should have been crafting
but I couldn't resist a walk in the sunshine!

Today is Coffee and Create - aka eating lots of cake!
Take care friends.
