For the love of butterflies...

A butterfly card to share today....

The flower is created with Spellbinders S4-192 Blossom die template,
just a case of cutting every one, laying them on top of each other,
stamping the sentiment and then raising them up with foam pads - simple but effective!
The papers are the gorgeous Ella Blue range from GCD Studios, the stamp is from Heartfelt Creations and Martha Stewart butterfly punch.  This card is fluttering its way to a friend very soon.

Have a good day!

Fabric Journal - nearly finished!

A week or two back in this post I shared the beginnings of a fabric journal.
The ultimate in shabby chic!
This weekend I worked at finishing it and I'm nearly there..

I grabbed as many pretty papers as I could, embellishments, photos and ran it all through the sewing machine - no glue here!
I'm hoping to use it as a sort of memory book, remembering quotes, keeping tickets -
and all that stuff (what my sons refer to as "pretty but pointless!"

To bind the pages, it was hand sewing long stitches and now I'm following lovely Jude's idea of sewing buttons along the spine!
Just a few more to go....
Happy Monday everyone!

Tea with Jools Holland!

Today I had tea at St Mary's Church in Higham, Kent.
The super talented Jools Holland came along too!

This was a Mad Hatter's Tea Party event organised by the Friends of St Mary's Church and supporting the Church Conservation Trust.  Keeping in theme, my sister made this stunning cake complete with the white rabbit's pocket watch.
Cakes and cream tea were on the menu, it was truly lovely and I managed to take a few more snaps before the rain descended!

In all the day was...

My Workdesk

So here is my workdesk being occupied once again!
In front of my cat filled basket is my faithful little DVD player - I happily craft to every period drama I can lay my hands on!  Mansfield Park, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre and more.  I'm afraid Wuthering Heights rarely gets an outing..bit bleak and depressing for crafting! So what do you craft to?? Music, TV or relish the silence?  I'm intrigued...
Oh...and this was the look I got when I suggested she move!

A Happy Garden!

I have a tiny garden but actually that's fine, it means I can cope with the gardening!
This year my lovely Mum has planted up my hanging baskets,
they are beautiful with a strong colour theme....
Spellbinders pink!

There are more blooms to come - don't they just look like lovely happy flowers!
Oh yes.. these two are absolutely no help when it comes to gardening!
Hope you are all having a lovely Wednesday!

Guest Designer - ATDML

Some months back I was thrilled to be invited to be a Guest Designer for  A Trip Down Memory Lane.
Today I've gone live on their blog and gallery.
I was lucky to receive some gorgeous papers, ribbons and more.
This is one of the items I made - a card using Echo Park - For the Record.

Nip over there for a look and a bit of shopping!

Pickleberry Workshop - Fabric Journal

Do you LOVE shabby chic?? If not, better look away now!
This is what I was making yesterday at Pickleberry Papercrafts.
The very talented Jane Dean showed us how to create this wonder of fabric,
patchwork, bunting, lace and more. I LOVE it!
Inside we are recycling window envelopes, dictionary pages, music sheets, pretty paper - anything!
All machined together in any style, no rules here - in fact the more fraying and machining the better so we all put our foot to the treadle!
Mine is unfinished, lots more pages to go but I will enjoy putting it together.
Once completed it will be a great place to journal, keep mementos and just adore!
To keep mine closed I found a pretty dragonfly brooch (see pic 1) - well it's nearly a butterfly!
Bye for now and come back soon.

Chicken Soup - Recipe 44

It's Friday and that means it is time to be inspired by Chicken Soup.
This week the picture is this beautiful photograph, the detail is amazing,
its wings look transparent.
My take on this was a card featuring butterflies of course!
Created using Spellbinders die templates - Eyelet Circles and Butterflies Two
Have a great weekend.
I will share with you soon.
